Doctor in Pedagogy from the Ramon Llull University of Barcelona and Master in Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE Business School. Degree in History and Master from the University of Barcelona. Professor of Educational Technology and Educational Leadership at the UOC. He was Vice-Rector of Postgraduate Studies and Continuing Education at the UOC (2007-2013). He is currently the director of the Postgraduate in School Leadership and Management at the UOC.

He is an expert researcher in the field of educational organization and e-learning and directs and collaborates in research projects focused on educational policies and leadership in higher education and the use of ICT. He has directed and participated in research projects related to the educational use of ICT. He has published several books, including “The ethical organization of schools and the transmission of values” (1999), “Learning in virtuality” (2000); “The University on the Internet” (2008) and “Transformative Use of Digital Technologies in Education” (2020). He has published numerous scientific articles in journals with international impact (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5123-0370). Founder and director of the UNESCO Chair in E-learning at the UOC in the period 2002-2009.

Co-director and founder of the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education (www.ethe.uoc.edu), a refereed scientific journal in the field of e-learning, Q1 in JCR and Scopus. President of EDEN (https://eden-europe.eu) and of the Universities of the Future Network (https://unifuture.network), an international network of researchers on the future of higher education and coordinator of REDUNETE (https://redunete.net), a network of Colombian universities for the use of technology in education.

He has been a visiting professor at several universities in Latin America (University of Guadalajara, Veracruz and UNAM in Mexico; University of the Andes and Antioquia in Colombia; Private Technical University of Loja in Ecuador, among others) and in Australia at the University of New England.
