Led by the Professor Morris Jong, Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Education Technology in Higher Education (ETHE), as Organizing Committee Chairthe 30th Global Chinese Conference on Computers in Education (GCCCE 2026) will be held from 30 May to 3 June 2026 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong, China. GCCCE, which is one of the long-established and biggest conferences on educational technology among global Chinese communities, will bring together researchers, educators, and professionals to exchange ideas and advance research in technology-enhanced learning.

Under the theme “Education in the Age of AI: Opportunities, Boundaries, and Capabilities,” GCCCE 2026 will proactively frame and deeply reflect on the key question: “In the face of AI-driven change, where is educational technology headed?”. Through interdisciplinary dialogue and a collision of global perspectives, the conference will not only explore “what can be used” in AI-enabled educational tools but also probe “what defines the boundaries” and “what becomes possible.”

The conference programme will include keynote speeches, paper presentations, symposia, workshops, doctoral forums, and a dedicated teacher forum. Key themes cover learning sciences, artificial intelligence in education, learning analytics, technology-enhanced learning, digital pedagogy, and educational assessment, reflecting current developments and future directions in the field.

Hosted by CUHK’s Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies, GCCCE 2026 aims to bridge research, policy, and practice, encouraging dialogue between researchers and practitioners on how emerging technologies are reshaping education. The conference also seeks to strengthen international academic networks and support knowledge exchange across sectors.

GCCCE 2026 is looking forward to joining with Chinese-speaking scholars worldwide to map out the cognitive landscape of educational innovation in the AI era—and to offering diverse solutions for building a future educational ecosystem that balances technological advancement with humanistic care.
