Prof. Morris Jong, Co-Editor-in-Chief of ETHE, organised and moderated the SSCI Journal Editors-in-Chief Forum: Strategies for Publishing Educational Technology Research in High-Impact SSCI Journals at the Global Chinese Conference on Computers in Education (GCCCE) 2026, held on 3 June 2026 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The forum brought together Editors-in-Chief and Co-Editors-in-Chief of four leading SSCI journals in educational technology and teacher education, including Prof. Chin-Chung Tsai (Computers & Education), Prof. Silvia Lee (Educational Technology & Society), Prof. Hongbiao Yin (Teaching & Teacher Education), and Prof. Thomas Chiu (Interactive Learning Environments). Drawing on their editorial experience, the panelists shared perspectives on identifying impactful research questions, designing rigorous studies, avoiding common pitfalls in manuscript submission, and navigating the peer-review process.
The discussion also explored emerging trends in educational technology and AI in education research, emphasizing the importance of theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and educational significance in advancing the field from the international perspective. An interactive question-and-answer session enabled researchers and postgraduate students to engage directly with the editors on publication strategies and the evolving expectations of leading international journals.
The forum reflected ETHE’s ongoing commitment to supporting the global educational technology research community by fostering dialogue between journal editors and researchers and promoting excellence in scholarly publishing.
